DBS Chinese New Year Dinner @ Shangri-La, Island Ballroom

Photobucket

DBS dressed up the ballroom for Chinese New Year,
specially in their corporate colours.

The 4-piece fusion band included
an erhu player, a guitarist, a percussionist and a didgeridoo player -
playing English jazz, R&B and other classics.

Our didgeridoo player is the only professional player in the whole of Southeast Asia :)

And yes, yours truly plays the erhu as well!

Draeger Safety Asia Chinese New Year Appreciation Dinner @ Sheraton Towers

Photobucket

The folks at Draeger Safety Asia had enough of flashy entertainment at D&Ds,
and having being made fun of against their will by over-enthusiastic emcees in embarrassing games.

All they wanted was a great live band, and a grand lucky draw to kick off the celebration for a prosperous New Year!

And that was exactly what we could provide with our 3-piece jazz band!

PS. I've always loved the view upon entering Sheraton Towers, the lobby is majestic with its floor-to-ceiling glass walls and grand waterfall :)

Mr Wong's 60th Birthday Bash @ Tien Court Restaurant, Copthorne King's Hotel

Thank you Yours Truly for providing us with such an entertaining evening with your songs and radiant smile. It was a pleasant evening indeed which was filled with songs for guests of all ages. It has certainly brightened up the mood and ambience of a traditional chinese 60th birthday dinner gathering.

Mr and Mrs Wong

Mr and Mrs Wong are a very sweet, and very hip couple.

Having a live band to make sure everyone was entertained,
they also dressed up the room with balloons screaming "Over The Hill!"
and hung strings of 60 all around -

You couldn't miss it -
Mr Wong even sported a flashing badge proclaiming It's My Birthday!
all in the name of fun of growing old, but not growing up :)

Their very diverse crowd included old friends, family and young people,
so the song list included English and Mandarin pop,
as well as a very soothing brand of oldies such as these:

El Condor Pasa by Paul Simon
Massachusetts by Bee Gees
Try To Remember by the Brothers Four
Solamente Una Vez

Happy Birthday Mr Wong!!!
