Just when we were about to leave, we saw this photo booth sitting in a corner of the ballroom.. It was definitely one of the night's crowd favourites, so many people were queuing up for it!
So in all singaporean spirit, we joined in the queue!
i think fabfoto is going to be the next big thing!
Thank you Luke and Rachel for being so accommodating, we couldn't have been more grateful!
It might have been my first time meeting Jordan & Amanda but they are definitely no strangers to Yours Truly. Turns out 2 couples in their guestlist had also previously hired Yours Truly to be part of their special night.. and now it's their turn! Talk about customer loyalty!
When it comes to wedding dinners, i've always been interested in the table decors... Trust me, they tell a lot about the couple, from the colour combi right down to the kind of chosen doorgifts... Tiffany blue and white combi never fails (: Check out the tiffany boxes at the side! Everyone was given a tiffany ring on that night.... in their dreams hahaa
Napkins tied with tiffany blue ribbon and PEARLS.. omg the details!
It is not difficult to tell Amanda & Jordan's personalities from the effort they've put into the table decor!
Jordan was so sweet he decided to surprise his wife with the song "Have I told you lately" (he had to drink a few glasses before he garnered enough courage to do so haha) rehearsal before the wedding
Showtime! Amanda looks surprised indeed.
It's always very heartwarming when couples thank their parents.. some choose to use words, others present flowers as display of their love and affection, Jordan & Amanda chose the latter and even invited their parents on stage..
It was such a bittersweet scene seeing their mother shed tears of joy in the embrace of their children, the emotions was further amplified with Matthew's fill-in piano rendition of 最浪漫的事.. i seriously wanted to bawl out loud there and then T_T
Thank you Jordan & Amanda! Your filial piety and sincerity really touched me ((: I wish you happiness & everlasting love always!
Kewei & Alfred on vox Daniel on guitar Ying on keys Felix on double-bass Daniel Ho on percussion
Will & Karen's wedding was a magnificent one, beautifully coordinated by the lovely team at Wedding Acts, especially when both of them were based in London.
Check out this grand fairyland frame which consisted of 3000 red roses!!! 3000!!!
We also had a band in full-force, complete with percussion, double-bass, guitar and keyboard.
I represented Singapore earlier at a Hong Kong Tourism Board event, so could only sing for Will & Karen for their later dinner set, they were gracious and kind enough to let me sing at the event earlier.
Alfred had already wowed the crowd, especially Karen's family from Hong Kong, with his Jacky Cheung-esque numbers! Many guests came up to compliment the band, even one of the super big-shots working at Pan Pacific, who was part of the family.
It was all very encouraging for us!
When we sung together for the next set, it was very entertaining for the guests to hear another singer, and we sang many duets as well, all to rounds of applause. Picture by Rayvin of d'ZIGN
Will and Karen were also very appreciative of the band, and we had a great time!
Thank you Will and Karen! May your new life together be a joyous and blessed one!
Give me a chance Give me the opportunity To fall in love with someone, like you And when it's over, over, It's all said and done, my babe I'll be right there if you just, give me a chance, And marry me...
Thanks for the excellent perfomance yesterday!! Thanks for making our wedding lunch a memorable one for not only both me & Alan but also our guests!! Especially all my sis & bros!! You shld know who they are right? They are now your fans..haha!!
You & Alfred's wonderful voice has melted all of our hearts!! AWESOME!! Once again…THANKS!!~~ *big hug+muaks* :)
Karen&Alan
I love this ballroom!
The tables are on three tiers, looking down onto the stage, and it was really cosy! However, the stage is really small, so it can only accommodate 3 people in the band maximum :) Still it felt great to be so near to the guests, it's more intimate that way!
Karen & Alan were really sweet, the minute I met Alan, he said "Congratulations on winning the PK!" I replied, "Congratulations on getting married!" LOL
PS. Einein and I flew to Taipei to take part in 超級偶像SuperIdol to PK the contestants, and we won!
Here's a clip of our performance :)
Karen had this beautiful dress - here's a picture I snapped of her album! I love the details on the sweetheart neckline, and the layers peeking from underneath the hem!
They had an awesome bunch of sisters and brothers, who were super enthusiastic and really appreciative of us!
Karen's brother Awee also made a great emcee, he was funny and personable, and I felt like I knew all of them for some time already :)
Karen also noted several song dedications beforehand for their family and friends, which made my job even more special :)
Through her dedications, I could feel the love and attentive detail she showered upon her friends (even amidst the crazy schedule of wedding preparation), and it was no wonder she was so loved by them!
Here's her list:
That's What Friends Are For - "we wld like to dedicate this songs to all our sisters & bros (our buddies) who helped us a lot during our wedding preparation" (this of course met with screams and hoots and cheers)
Forever love - Wang Leehom "we wld like to dedicate this songs to my elder bro -Awee & my sis-in-law Anne, this is the song which my bro sang for Anne during their Wedding dinner. I can still remember that very romantic moment =)" (seeing Awee and Anne with their baby made it sweeter, Awee sang along to the song, and nothing beats the memory of your own wedding day :)
Always be my baby -"we wld like to dedicate this song to sis Joey & bro Raymond (the emcee)….wish that their wedding bells will ring soon after ours..this is the song that they use as their mobile ringtone." (so sweeeeet! i love the way the couples look when i announce a special dedication for them... they become the stars of the day at that moment, instead of the newlywed couple!)
我只在乎你 "we wld like to dedicate this song to our parents, thanks for their love to us since the day we were born"
你的名字,我的姓氏 - 张学友 "we wld like to this song to bro shayn, who like this song very very much as Karen does…karen did promise him that alfred will give him surprise :p" (i hope this surprise worked with shayn! it's alfred's classic hit!)
First Love - Utada Hikaru "Karen: this song reminds me the time when I was studying in college at KL with my 2 sisters Jaclyn & Joey, we always hear this song in our room together... wld like to dedicate this song to both of them" (Jaclyn nearly came onstage to sing this song! They were pleasantly surprised to hear this sorority sister dedication :p)
爱爱爱=方大同 "dedicate this song to one of my ji mui - Joanne...as she skipped 方大同's concert for my wedding" (Joanne looked really surprised at being singled out for this dedication, but when I revealed the reason I could tell she was touched by this gesture :)
Karen's brother updated me about a rather complicated love story between their friends X & XM, so I was tasked to sing them a song to bring them together :)
I dedicated my finale song for them, but it wasn't enough! They cheered for an ENCORE!! and we conceded, to 新不了情, which became the theme of X & XM!
Jeremy was a sweetie at heart, as illustrated in Understanding Tammi & Jeremy 101
Looking hard and spiky on the outside, but all soft and mushy on the inside! LOL I loved his wit and wry humour, this was the first time I saw such a funny powerpoint presentation at a wedding!
He secretly practised a surprise song for his wife with the band during the soundcheck, L-O-V-E! After his speech, he led his wife back to his seat, but stopped midway, as if as an after-thought, and said, "Actually... I have a surprise for you.."
Tammi looked so happy, and so gorgeous in her purple gown :) Hopefully I'll have pictures to share later!
We sang all English songs for the night, and the requests were pouring in, we ran out of slips!
Sweet compliments from guests!
This was also one of the rare times that we received a thank you gift from the wedding couple (other than angpaos :p) - that was really thoughtful!
Pretty packaging!
Yummss :9
Thank you very much Tammi and Jeremy!!! Wishing you happiness, through Venezuela Bitter or Ghana Sweet times!
This is Benson, we met at Marina Bay Sands? :) Sorry, I didn't chance to properly bid you and your partner farewell. You guys are fabulous!
I do quite a fair bit of wedding photography and your vocals are by far, one of the best I've heard. :)
Thank you for serenading us.
It made that evening that much more special... :)
B
It was our virgin wedding at Marina Sands!
and it wasn't long before i understood why such a huge convention centre was situated right next to the casino...
picture happy relatives, a couple of drinks, before they know it they've already stumbled their way right to the casino doors!
it didn't help that ATM machines were everywhere hahah..
It seems that Joan's choice to hold her wedding dinner at this place was intended to cater for their guests' post-wedding dinner entertainment..
quote at the end of her speech,
"you all know what is right next to the ballroom, THE NIGHT IS STILL YOUNG, enjoy yourselves!"
I am no fan of gambling, but i am vulnerable to life's other guilty pleasures..
and Steven gave me the chance to indulge in what i would think as one of the most gastronimically satisfying experience ever!!!
Introducing.. the warm chocolate cake.
A scoop of hazelnut ice cream with some cripsy flakes at the bottom + warm oozing chocolate cake that collapses with the touch of the spoon...
To think i almost missed it! I wanted to leave after our set ended but Steven urged us to stay for the dessert..
boy am i glad i did. hahhaha
Looks like the guests were in for a treat that night... casino + good food + good music... what else do they need!?
We specially prepared 2 march-in songs for the night, the sweet sweet song Lover's Concerto for their 1st march-in & for their 2nd march-in, If we hold on together by Diana Ross (remember the dinosaur movie Land before time?)
Thank you Steven & Junie for the awesome night and best warm chocolate cake!
Hey Kewei, Thank you so much for your wonderful service last night. Many of our guests thought that the band was really good and some of them even asked for your contacts. Thanks for the dedication service that you recommended, it turned out to be one of the highlights of the night. We hope you guys were happy with the dinner arrangement too. Lastly, We wish the best for your business in the future. Many thanks, Klement and Jiamin
Jiamin was my junior in secondary school, and I haven't seen her for soooo looong!!! I was thrilled to see her wedding photos, oh my she has blossomed into such a beautiful blushing bride!!!
They originally did not want dedication slips for the night, preferring to keep it as a no-frills wedding. They probably thought it might be a complicated process somewhat, and wanted to keep things within expecations, but since I knew them personally, I took the initiative to push my limit a little by explaining to them how it was pretty straightforward - I would leave dedication slips on each table, and their friends and family could write messages and song dedications for myself to read out :)
I always feel that this makes guests feel more involved at the dinner, rather than having a live band playing a static list of pre-determined songs.
I'm so happy that it turned out well, and they really appreciated it! :D
Klement and Jiamin were a very down-to-earth couple, who took really good care of us, and their friends as well made sure we were fed proper! I am always grateful for a good meal before a wedding :)
Veteran actor Liu Qian Yi was also present at the dinner, and I was pleasantly surprised that he recognised me from TV and from concerts!!!
We already noticed his presence halfway through the dinner, but didn't know how to go speak to him, so when he approached me, “你是鄭小姐嗎?” , I'm glad I was quick enough to go, "劉謙益大哥﹗” LOL
Was super honoured to be recognised by him!!! He was full of praises for the band and we were really thankful as we are his little fans!
Blessings to Jiamin and Klement for their new journey together! :D
