Sijie & Lee Khim's Wedding @ Four Seasons Hotel
alfred and kexin on vox,
ein on keys (missing in the photo).
The 4 seasons ballroom was a grand one.
We, the singers, were even pampered with 4 LCD screens,
situated at each side of the ballroom so that everyone can see us.
Talk about LIVE entertainment!
One of the host for the afternoon (kudos to Sijie's buddy),
spoke in teochew to accommodate the older folks!
Ein and I thought it's very heartwarming to see family and friends
laugh along at his semi-pro dialect!
To get into the local mood,
we too sang 一人一半, the hokkien/chinese song from 881 OST.
Repertoire for the night consisted mainly of english evergreens like lover's concerto
and chinese love ballads like 永邦 - 你是我最深爱的人.
congrats to the lovely couple!

Hi Kewei,
Thank you very much for the wonderful performance on Tuesday. My guests loved the music. Hope you all enjoyed yourselves as well! Sorry I was too busy that night to even say hello properly. Thank you once again! :)
Cheers,
Anthia
Jackson and Anthia's snazzy bridal car and beautiful backdrop made for great photos!

They are also one of the few couples who requested for an erhu jazz trio for their wedding -
we covered a fair share of erhu instrumental pieces together with jazz vocals :)
Yours Truly emcee Kitty also brought much joy to the celebration!
Congratulations once again to the glowing couple!

Faith & Samson's Wedding in Hong Kong
Kewei, Faith & Samson, Ein Ein
Kewei and EinEin,
Thanks for coming to HK for our wedding ! Your good voice and music talent shocked everyone at the banquet ! Hope you enjoy your stay in HK and "Tsui Wah"'s food last night.
Thx a billion
Samson&Faith
and we are in Hong Kong!
Yours Truly has officially gone international! :D
This is all thanks to Faith and Samson, who found myself on Facebook and
flew us to Hong Kong for their 2-night wedding celebration!
He also wanted me to play We Just Don't Care on my guitar as the opening song for the dinner,
so it is officially the first time I played guitar at a public gig!
I never play the guitar for gigs except in the comforts of my room for Youtube :p
They had seen this and loved it :)
We were at the Happy Valley Race Course for the 1st night :)
Ein and I noted the differences in wedding dinner traditions between Singapore and HK -
the couple would be at the ballroom from about 630pm onwards to take pictures with guests that streamed in for the dinner.
This is a nice idea for Singaporeans, who usually take table-to-table pictures after the 2nd march-in.
The couple would get to speak to their friends at length, and also take personal pictures with other couples or groups of friends (regardless of table arrangement).
But, it was tiring for them as well to wait for their guests to arrive.
Also, the good thing about this was - after their 2nd march in,
they didn't have to stick to the format of taking table-to-table pictures,
but could have time to talk and toast table-to-table :)
Since this was after all a race course,
multiple video screens were available around the ballroom!
We've all seen this in movies -
friends and relatives come earlier to the dinner for mahjong rounds!
At the Owner's Box
We sang a mix of English, Mandarin and Cantonese songs!
They were nice enough to pardon my Cantonese pronunciation :p
Samson loved to sing!
He belted out David Tao's Ai Hen Jian Dan, and several Cantonese songs from Jacky Cheung!
The second night of the dinner celebrations we were at a ballroom in Jockey Club :)
Their friends and family took such good care of us, constantly feeding us and asking if we were having a good time.
Thanks to Philip, Martin and Gladys!
I received a bouquet of flowers! :D Thanks Philip!
Before we left Samson and Faith thanked us profusely again
and made us promise to come back for the baby's 1st month birthday party... :)
We're more than happy to!
PS. Here's what some of the guests have to say about the dinner...

Renzi & Huida's Wedding @ Orchid Country Club Grand Ballroom
This magnificent ballroom is large, spacious, with high ceilings and a looooong march-in red carpet :)
Together with Yours Truly emcee Kitty, the entire night's program was a breeze :)
The generous couple also arranged for a table for the band, the emcee and the photographer and videographer!
I must say this was the first time I sat down to the full-course meal as a wedding singer :)
Awaiting photos!

Alycia & Boon's Wedding @ St Regis
Daniel on guitar, Niq on percussion, Dawn on vox, Ivan on sax, Ein on keys, Xianyang on erhu, Selwyn on violin
Hei Kewei
Thank you so much for the good band you help put together for boon and I.
We went up to the band to thank them, especially for the effort they had to rehearse over the phone to assure us that the march in song was upbeat and grand enough to the parents' liking : )
We all had a great time. Please extend our regards and thanks to the entire band again
- Alycia
This is perhaps the biggest band to date so far -
a 7 piece band in the new swanky St Regis hotel!
I've long heard about the legendary St Regis hotel and have always passed the steely grand exterior wondering about the inside.
Stepping into the St Regis Ballroom on Saturday for the wedding of Alycia and Boon, it seemed like all my expectations of grandeur had sprung into life!
Alycia had a clear vision of what she wanted and we were happy and honoured that she had picked us for her special day.

To match the east meets west decadent fusion atmosphere of the day,
a 7 piece band comprising vocals, violin, erhu, bass guitar, keyboard, saxophone, and percussion was assembled.
A grand instrumental piece was constructed to the careful instruction of the bride to introduce both parents of the bride & groom and the couple, followed by a sexy mix of vocal and instrumental upbeat numbers like 我要你的爱, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, and The Way You Look Tonight.

To Alycia and Boon, it was great seeing you enjoy your big day and thank you for having us! Our deepest congratulations to you :)
Sok Ying & Aloysius's Wedding @ Grand Copthorne Waterfront, Waterfront Ballroom
I had great fun at this wedding!
Sok Ying was a beautiful and voluptuous lady,
whose vivacious personality shone throughout the celebrations :)
Aloysius was also very hospitable towards us, making sure we had a great dinner and were well taken care of, and he was absolutely friendly. :)
Their brother and sister team looked perfect in their matching colours -
the brothers all wore a satin blue tie,
whereas the sisters had the same satin ribbons on their cream dresses, each uniquely designed :)
The professional emcees also kept the spirits up,
especially during the sabo segment when the couple had to do a bollywood dance for their loved ones!
There is no older game than dancing around a person pretending to be a coconut tree,
but everyone loved it, including Sok Ying and Aloysius themselves!
I say, bring the games on!
It's great fun to let loose during your wedding, really have fun
and laugh at yourself along with others! :D
When inviting the guests onstage,
several tables started cheering and clapping for their grandfather,
who raised his glass high in the air towards them, smiling from ear to ear.
Little kids sitting on shoulders even started chanting 爷爷!爷爷!
He had to be the most popular 爷爷 I've ever seen!
Sok Ying and Aloysius's wedding speech was also unscripted, warm, and straight to the point - they thanked friends who flew in to join them on their big night, extended family, colleagues etc.
But Aloysius's closing really took the cake -
"I would also like to thank the Japanese guy who stays in Room 2414, opposite my suite!
When I was standing outside at the hallway, he opened his door and asked me, Excuse me, if I send my laundry by tonight.. will I get it by tomorrow morning?
I looked at him, and said: Yes."
The entire ballroom, already in great spirits, burst out laughing!
Besides playing for both march-ins,
Gulia also played Handel's Concerto for the 1st Dish Presentation,
which was a magnificent classical piece that sounded great on the harp!
Sok Ying had requested last minute for the harp to play since she didn't want flashy lights and music for the 1st Dish Presentation.
And I couldn't agree more with her decision :)

Vernon & Pamela's Wedding @ Carlton Hotel
Alfred and Kewei on vocals, Ein on keys
Hi Kewei,
Once again, thanks for helping to entertain our guests with your lovely voice on our wedding night, together with Alfred and Ein Ein.
Yours Truly Presence has helped to make our wedding memorable to all of us. Have received numerous praises from the guests on your performance.
Also, can you let us know your mailing address? We have been busy this 2 days to prepare for our Honeymoon & will be flying off in a few more hour. Hence, we would like to post our thank you card and comments (for you to add on to your website)... after we are back from our honeymoon 2 weeks later kk. :)
Keep in touch, and all the best to Yours Truly.
Best Regards,
Vernon Cheng & Pamela Lee
Vernon and Pamela were a very warm couple, who took care of all our needs :)
We were even invited to a buffet dinner before our performance!
They also carefully selected their repertoire and did a great job with it, I must say!
It was a good combination of several duets, both Mandarin and English,
and we learnt new songs such as 半生熟 - and old ones such as 出嫁 :)
here with Sharie and Junsheng, our good friends who were also at the dinner!

Yubo & Serene's Wedding @ Marriott
Yubo is a damn good singer!!!
He called earlier before the wedding asking if he could sing a song,
and my answer was SUUUURRRREEE.
More than happy to accede to such requests :)
During the soundcheck he tried Leehom's Forever Love,
but decided to sing just a chorus, dedicated to his wife in his speech.
I thought that was a good idea since some couples might feel awkward singing an entire song on stage with their loved ones right next to them.
The bottom line is - Do whatever that feels comfortable for you!
But during his speech at the dinner -
he sang SOOOO GOOOOOOD, Alfred, Ein and I just couldn't help laughing and staring at each other in amazement!
After his chorus, the ballroom went berserk hooting and cheering,
and ENCORE ENCORE ENCORE was only natural :)
I quickly passed him the lyrics and he sang the entire song,
from the 1st verse to the chorus :)
Perfectly.
(Note to self: must recruit into Yours Truly :p hahah)
Serene is a lucky woman.
BUT so is Yubo, since Serene is such a gorgeous, sweeet lady!!!
Their wedding video was also a heartwarming and funny one,
their friends were interviewed one by one about the couple,
how they met, how they're like,
and I thought the SUBTITLES were an excellent idea,
since in most wedding videos, we tend to miss out on what they're saying :)
Wishing them laughter and love! :)

Carrot Cake Conversations Gala Premiere @ GV Grand
Einein and I are terribly honoured to be part of this local production, Michael Wang's directorial debut!
All the piano tracks you hear in the film are played by Einein,
and I sang for 3 songs in the film.
This song called Always,
is from one of my favourite scenes in the movie...
We also performed for the reception at the gala premiere of the movie at GV Grand earlier this week :)
