It wasn't my first time at the Ritz Carlton and i knew it was going to be fun with a full band's backing!

We were placed right on stage, facing a strong crowd of 70 tables..
With such a large crowd, it was only understandable that the bride & groom be swarmed by the buzzing atmosphere.. afterall, it is their night!

But what struck me particularly hard and made me feel all warm & fuzzy inside as a wedding singer was when i sang the song "Way Back into Love", dedicated by Kevin's brother.
I always made it a point to read out my messages when the couple is seated at their table so that they could feel the love from their friends & family members.
But i had never met any groom half as sweet as Kevin! He literally shifted his chair to face me and smiled so hard throughout the song i swear i couldn't see his eyes! hahaha

That, really really made me feel very touched ((:

We would like to thank Dawn and the band from yourstruly and yourself for providing us for a night of incredible music. It created the mood much better then we could have imagined and many of our guests loved the music and enquired about the band. It's odd how in more than 2 years of singing at weddings, this is the first time I'm performing at the Ritz Carlton hotel! It was fun waltzing through the glass doors with waiting fans (not mine unfortunately) in matching outfits. It seems there are Korean popstars in the neighbourhood ;) (If you're going to the Korean concert on 1 or 2 Feb at the Esplanade, do look out for Wah Yong!)

Yours Truly pulled out a jazzy repertoire that truly sparkled if I may say so myself. The sound was crystal clear thanks to our professional sound guy and hired system and it made all the difference to be able to enjoy each song in all its clarity.

A dear friend of the groom, Keith, who also happens to be the principal and founder of his own music school, played and sang a special song dedication to the couple, accompanied by Wah Yong. Not only that, the emcee for the evening, William, who has incidentally done work for Yours Truly, came up on stage to do an impromptu duet with me! Yuan Yuan & Ming Wei certainly have talented friends :)

Thank you Keith for taking great care of the band. Thank you William for being such a sport. And of course thank you Yuan Yuan & Ming Wei for having us!

Richard & Mei Yin's Wedding @ Ritz Carlton

Richard and Mei Yin's wedding has got to be one of the most posh weddings I've ever had the honour to perform at.

The venue spoke of class and elegance, with chandelier-like flower displays scattered throughout the ballroom. It was also the very same ballroom where Mediacorp actress Michelle Chia held her televised wedding dinner very recently!

While the VIP table (where the parents are seated) are usually located right in front of stage, Richard and Mei Yin's VIP table was situated right in the middle of the ballroom, centre of attention indeed!
Even during the reception, we already noticed that almost all of the gentlemen were clad in black suit and tie, something not commonly seen at most weddings.
As if these were not enough to qualify it as the "breakthrough wedding of the year", every single guest had their meals served in an exquisite dish, ala carte style, instead of each table having to share one huge dish.
Now I was really impressed by the meal presentation for it not only gave the wedding dinner a touch of sincerity, but also made the guests feel a sense of importance.

It was particularly touching when the couple went an extra mile to thank their parents and YoursTruly was happy to have been part of it.
We sang their parents' favourite song, 月亮代表我的心, promptly after they finished their thank-you speeches. In a well-timed fashion, they also proceeded to present specially-prepared gifts for their parents when the song ended.

YoursTruly was honoured to have been part of such a wonderful celebration of Love, joy and gratitude!

Arjunan & Li-Shenn's Wedding @ Ritz Carlton

Arj and Shenn had a grand time at the Ritz, with 84 tables of friends and family.

I love what they wore for their 2nd march-in,

Arj was decked in a traditional Chinese ma gua,
and Shenn swathed in a glitzy sari.

In Arj's words,

Shenn loves Bollywood movies,

and Arj was pretending to be a dragon.

He also sang Fly Me To The Moon specially for Shenn :)

We played for 3 sets, due to end at 1130pm.

to accompany the guests with groovy numbers as they took to the dance floor.

Arj and Shenn's diverse taste of music included not only the regular jazz and romantic ballads,
but also pop hits from the '70s and '80s.

and we played all the way till 1am!
